Halal Turkey Brine Recipe (with Boxed Halal Bone Broth)

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon Boxed Halal Beef Bone Broth (or a mix of bone broth + water)

  • 1 cup kosher salt

  • ½ cup brown sugar (optional for balance)

  • 2 oranges, sliced

  • 2 lemons, sliced

  • 2 onions, quartered

  • 6 cloves garlic, smashed

  • 3–4 bay leaves

  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns

  • 1 tablespoon allspice berries (optional)

  • A few sprigs of fresh thyme or rosemary


Instructions:

  1. Combine the base:
    In a large pot, add Boxed Halal Bone Broth, salt, and brown sugar. Bring to a gentle simmer and stir until the salt dissolves.

  2. Add flavor:
    Turn off the heat. Stir in citrus slices, onions, garlic, herbs, and spices. Let cool completely.

  3. Brine the turkey:
    Place your thawed Boxed Halal Turkey in a large container or brining bag. Pour the cooled brine over it, ensuring the turkey is fully submerged.

  4. Refrigerate:
    Brine for 12–24 hours in the refrigerator.

  5. Prep for roasting:
    Remove from brine, rinse lightly, and pat dry. Let the turkey rest uncovered in the fridge for 1–2 hours for perfectly crisp skin.

Use leftover Boxed Halal Bone Broth to baste your turkey while it roasts for extra depth and tenderness.
